Happy Anniversary!

Can you believe it has been three years since we began at Oak Hill Family Ranch?

Happy Anniversary to us! It has been quite the experience and we are so grateful to for all of the support we have received. We are SO excited to share our next journey will all of you.

First off, Beatrice the cow, finally had her baby! Please tell your children that her calf was sweet baby girl (heifer) calf, and both are doing amazing! Her new owners Courtney and Andy have been so gracious in letting us visit her. We are SO thankful!

We have been keeping ourselves very busy as usual here at the ranch, our latest project has been transforming the upper garden into a “food forest”. What in the world is a food forest? A food forest is a fruit and vegetable garden containing year-long plants, that require no tilling or weeding, because it mimics the ecosystem that is found in nature.

We have partnered with Soil food web designer, Michael Wedgley and the Oak Hill Family Ranch Wwoofers, who live and work at the ranch. These amazing guys are offering their specialized services free of charge (donations accepted) to those in need.

Their wish is to spread light during this time of uncertainty, by giving everyone the opportunity to learn about soil health and to teach people how to grow nutritious food in their own backyards (or front yards.) Please email us for more information.

We are hoping to offer Soil and garden classes, training, as well as ranch tours, as soon as October. Come and celebrate with us on Saturday, October 24th 4 p.m-6 p.m. For an opportunity to see our finished Food Forest and Garden!

Finally, will now be offering a weekly organic produce market every Saturday at the ranch from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. If you are interested in partnering with us to volunteer your time, donation based food, or products please email us.

Dates to remember

Saturday, September 26th (tomorrow) 9:30 p.m. -12:00 p.m.- Ranch Service Day!

Saturday, October 24th 4 p.m-6 p.m. Food Forest and Garden Open house!

Thank you,

Oak Hill Family Ranch

Food Forest Day One!

Food Forest Day One! Made possible by my amazing husband Michael Muhlestein =-)
Kicking butt and taking names =-). If you are interested in building a Food Forest or a Perma-culture garden and need help, we got you covered!!
The first project is our lower garden (across the street) is pictured below. The next project is the beginning stages of a food forest. This should take 2.5-3 weeks to complete. Hoping you feel inspired to create your own!
We owe most of the hard work to the man in the photo. A reliable, honest, generous man, who is dedicating his life to making sure that everyone is given the opportunity to grow their own food. Even if the cost is an issue. Message me if you’re interested in learning more!.
